The South - Lonely coves, quaint fishing villages and kilometers of beaches

 

Majorca has many faces, one more beautiful than the other. At that time, we decided deliberately for the south of the island with its wildly rugged rocky coasts. Our home is Sa Ràpita, for us one of the most beautiful places on the island. And for tourists still a secret tip!

 

The former fishermen village is located on the south coast of Majorca, not far from Campos. It is still considered as the perfect base to get to know the authentic Mallorca. Sa Ràpita is anything but a tourist center and invites you to relax and unwind. There are three small supermarkets and some cafes, bars and restaurants along the coast line. Whichever you choose, you always sit directly at the sea!

There is only one small hotel. We have specialized exclusively in private accommodation providers. Most of the houses belong to Mallorcans from Palma, who spend their weekends here and there. They are mostly lovingly mallorquin decorated and offer best comfort. We also live here in that place which is for us one of the most beautiful of the island.

The wonderful beach is about 1 kilometer, starting at the port of Sa Ràpita and connecting the small village Ses Covetes. A well-developed bike path leads along the sea and connects the beaches and villages. The 25m wide beach has fine, almost white sand and offers toilets, showers and the rental of umbrellas and sun loungers. The sea is crystal clear and turquoise. It is the perfect beach for children, because the shore falls flat, so the little ones can run far into the sea. The conditions for windsurfing are very good. A beach restaurant and two beach bars pamper with fresh food and cool drinks. Behind the beach is an undeveloped dune landscape.

For those who want to visit this beach by car, there is enough parking space at the port in Sa Ràpita. During the main season, shuttle buses run every day to transport sunbathers to various beach sections of the famous Es Trenc.

The North-East - great views, ancient castles and the cave of the dragon

This is a MUST BE to see! In the Northeast of the artists' village of Artà Capdepera is located. Resting silently on a hill the 700 years old Castell Capdepera is worth to visit. The strategic location of the castle has protected the inhabitants of the region from pirate attacks. The castle can be visited all year round and the view over the island from up there is breathtaking.

The Coves del Drac - the caves of the dragon - meander through the mountain at 1700 meters near Porto Cristo. One of the deepest lakes in the world is one of the great sights here. On the lake, there are daily live concerts, guaranteeing goose bumps. Don't miss it!

The West - Palma, Sant Elm, the Island of Dragonera and the Tramuntana Mountains

Palma is always a great trip! A beautiful old town, countless tapas restaurants, chic beach clubs and the breathtaking cathedral must be seen.
Sant Elm lures as a former paradise of pirates with small restaurants. The offshore island of the small Island Sa Dragonera with its millions of "little kites" is worth a day trip.
A trip to the Tramuntana mountains is a MUST BE! With the "Red Lightning", a train which drives several times every day from Palma towards Sóller, you can get comfortably into the mountains and look at the beautiful landscape. Sóller with its port is picturesque and a hike in the Tramuntana mountains is unforgettable. The typical Mallorcan scent, the view from the top of the mountain to the sea ... now you have fallen in love with the island! It simply offers the right thing for every taste and convinces with a great flight connection.
